Hi I'm Gina 😊

a person holding a pen writing in a journal

I spend way too much time doom scrolling social media, reading about marketing trends and strategies, so this is my place to think out loud about what I was seeing and share my content marketing (blogging, email marketing, digital products) experiments, flops, and controversial opinions that don't make good LinkedIn posts, because I can't stop noticing certain patterns to what's being said versus what's actually happening.

After a while, seeing the same recycled strategies starts to get tiring.

"Post consistently." "Build your personal brand." "Just add value."

Everyone talks about growth hacks and automation, but kept skipping the part where you start from the actual beginning and the actual starting points - finding out your voice, testing your assumptions and curiosities, and making live mistakes in real time.

Like that's all cool, but how? Like what does that actually look like when you're brand new to the team. Like actually.

So this blog is here to help me (and hopefully you too):

  • Stay sharp - if I'm consistently researching and writing about an industry that's constantly changing, I'm forced to keep learning.
  • Share what's real - myth-busting and transparency over perfection and hype.
  • Build alongside you - I'm still figuring this out too, let's do it together.

I'm sharing what I'm currently trying, what worked, what flopped, and what I'm thinking about. When I cite facts, data, or other people's work, I'll always source it. But the takes, and thoughts? Those come from my own journey. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't. Content marketing isn't one-size-fits-all, and I'm not here to pretend it is.

Quick note on language:
You'll see me say "content marketing" a lot here instead of "digital marketing." Why? Because honestly, I'm just so tired of the phrase. "Digital marketing" has become this catch-all buzzword that means everything and nothing at the same time. Content marketing feels more specific to what I actually do - blog, email, and create stuff. That said, I still use "digital marketing" when it makes sense (it's my industry, after all). Just know that when I say "content marketing," I'm talking about the stuff that builds ongoing connections beyond social media.

A little bonus:
I'll also be documenting my journey as a ghostblogger. My experiences writing for other people, building my portfolio, and sharing the behind-the-scenes, wins, mistakes, lessons. If you're curious about ghostwriting or just like watching someone figure things out in real-time, welcome!

So join me!
Think of this space less like the "blog with all the answers" and more like a "knowledgeable friend who's doing the research and is sharing her truth." I'm here to make content marketing less overwhelming and more doable.
